On November 14, 2023, the special trade fair SchraubTec OST will take place again in the Congress Center Dresden. From 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., around 60 exhibitors will present everything it takes to create safe and standard-compliant screw connections in industry. After the successful first event last year, SchraubTec is once again offering several highlights this year: The lecture program includes topics such as "Digital flange assembly", "Procurement 2.0", "Flow hole forming" and the "Intelligent analysis of screw data".
For the first time, several manufacturers will be presenting a joint system solution in Dresden: With the exhibit "Competence connects", the companies will be presenting a complete production line live - right next to each other. By assembling a battery module in a flexible modular system from design planning to final quality control, they will be demonstrating the industry's expertise with the aim of maximizing the compatibility of their products.
Especially in the metropolitan region of Central Germany, automobile and battery production are leading to a need for new solutions for safe and standard-compliant screw connections. The microelectronics clusters in Saxony are expanding their fabs into the most modern production facilities in the world. For this purpose, energy-efficient and reliable solutions for low torques in the electronics industry are available at SchraubTec, as well as electric screwdrivers for precision, productivity and quality in production. Not to be forgotten are the screws for electronics production, for example to screw electronic components into housings and to effectively carry out screwing tasks in electrical contact screwing or micro screwing.
This is why SchraubTec OST is extremely attractive for the region, as there is a large number of user industries. Volkswagen, for example, is active at three locations in Saxony. Incidentally, the majority of Porsche vehicles are made in Saxony. And the BMW plant in Leipzig is the group's electromobility competence center. Germany's only university-owned EMC research laboratory and the two largest lightweight construction research centers in Europe are located in Saxony. The heart of mechanical engineering beats in nearby Chemnitz. There are also the aircraft factory in Dresden and the chemical plants in Leuna.
"With this focused platform on the topic of industrial screw connections, we can provide precise information and network," explains Bernd Weinig, Director Trade Fair Solutions & Partnerships: "Dresden is a well-suited trade fair location for us with good infrastructure. The proximity to neighboring Poland and the Czech locations, especially in the automotive sector, is also ideal."
In 2021, the Vogel Communications Group (VCG) established a new industrial trade fair on the market with SchraubTec. In doing so, the VCG closed a gap in the industrial sector: With the concept of a regional trade fair series for the topic of screw connections, the Würzburg-based provider of specialist communication networks expert knowledge on screw connections, screw technology, screw tools and C-parts management throughout Germany. The trade fair concept is clearly defined thematically and focuses on the screwing tasks of the industry. The regional proximity makes it easier for trade visitors to participate (short journey, no overnight stay). www.schraubtec.com

"Some topics simply cannot be dealt with purely digitally! Mechanical fasteners such as screws and nuts are technically important structural components in industrial applications. Screw connections hold the industry together in the truest sense of the word! As technical possibilities grow, so do the requirements for screw connections. This requires a concrete exchange of know-how, and this is best done face-to-face," explains Weinig: "We make this industrial connection technology with all its facets tangible. Strengthening specialist knowledge, knowledge and skills for secure screw connections is the primary goal of SchraubTec." The ideal sponsor of SchraubTec is the VQWS, the Association for Qualification and Knowledge Transfer in Screw Technology.
VCG's industrial customers signal that live communication is essential for a successful business. Strong in the topic, specific to the target groups and as an analogue supplement to digital formats, regional trade fairs enable effective face-to-face exchange. The response to the SchraubTec regional trade fair is positive because...
• closer to the customer (regional = short journey)
• fewer resources (stand construction, time, travel costs)
• appropriate content and innovations (= agenda setting)
• high contact quality (= very specific target group)
• a neutral platform (= industry organizer)
